6/16 Update
We’re back from vacation! We had a wonderful time. We have a lot of pictures to post and I’ll try to do that in the next couple of days, along with a mini-trip report. We’d definitely like to visit Kauai again.
Jim is off the rest of the week. Yea! We don’t have much planned. Jim wants to see the new Indiana Jones movie. I want to get my hair cut. And we’re looking for a hook-on high chair seat for Ben.
Ben had his 4 month well-baby visit today. He weighs 13lbs 10oz (up 6lbs from birth) and 25 1/4 inches long (up almost 6 inches from birth). His weight gain has dropped down the growth curve as he’s gained not even two pounds since his 2 month appointment. The doctor was concerned but I mentioned it was at this age that Elizabeth really dropped on the curve as well. He’s ahead on his milestones and looks great, so the ped wasn’t concerned after that. He’s just starting to transition into 3-6 months clothes though almost all of his 0-3 still fits.
6/10 Update
Almost time for our vacation! I’m really looking forward to it. Kauai looks so beautiful, in a way that Oahu just isn’t. And our hotel looks great. It’ll be a nice first vacation as a family of four. Elizabeth is beside herself with excitement. She doesn’t really get it except that she gets to go on ” ‘cation with everybody including Ben”.
Earlier in the week she asked to pray. I asked her what she wanted to pray about–that we could go across to the PX and buy something!
We went shopping at the outlets today and I finally had luck finding some clothes! We went into Geoffrey Beane and I found a couple pair of capris, two skirts and a handful of shirts. All on sale AND with a military discount. We found a storage shelf to put into E’s bedroom. She’s playing with her toys more often in her bedroom and she needs some type of toy storage.
Elizabeth is really starting to make sleeping through the night a HABIT!! Woohooo!!! She is sometimes up once before midnight but then goes right back to sleep when we lead her to her room. Four years in the making….
