Overdue Update

A couple weeks ago, Elizabeth slept THROUGH the night. But she didn’t repeat it until Monday night. And then she did it again Tuesday night. Might this become a trend?? In any case, it gives me hope that, someday, she may do it every night. Wednesday night she awoke at some point b/c she was in bed with me when I woke up (in silence, I might add–no waking up to her chattering while playing beside me). So she woke up but Ben did NOT! Woohooooo!!! I doubt he’ll continue with that but, if he wants to, I won’t object!! 
Jim has been gone eight days and has six more until he comes home. Its gone much better than I anticipated. I’ll be glad to get the help back, though! Today I forgot to dress Ben before we left for Elizabeth’s dance & gymnastics class. I said, though, if I was going to forget to dress one of us, better him than me! 
Elizabeth is enjoying ballet & gymnastics. I’m not terribly impressed with either of the instructors but for the price & her age, its fine.
Ben is working on hard on trying to sit up. Don’t tell him but he’s not really close to doing it. He just thinks he is. He’s moved from a single giggle to a string of real laughter. We can get him to laugh when Jim shakes his (Ben’s, not Jim’s!) belly, when Elizabeth repeatedly runs up to him and pokes his belly and, sometimes, when I blow on his face. He continues to be totally obsessed with his sister and constantly tracks her.
Their new “trick” is feeding off of each other when crying. Ben will start crying when Elizabeth does and she will when he cries. At first I thought it was more a fake cry for the attention (when she cries when he starts) but I really think she really is upset about him being upset. Big huge tears come down her face. I love the sympathy but, really, one crying is enough, especially when its in the car!!
The plans for our June vacation to Kauai are pretty set. We fly out on June 12 (morning) and come back on June 15 (evening). Here’s a link to our hotel. We got a great deal on it. It looks so nice and it’ll be great to have a kitchen in our room so we can do some meals there. I got a great deal on our rental car from Priceline yesterday. We just need to firm up our plans for our days there.
Jim’s September block leave got changed. It will now be the first two weeks of September. Until it changes again! If it stays those dates, I anticipate we’ll fly home around the 3rd and stay for about a week.
