2/28 Update
Its been too long since I’ve written. I’ve not been on the computer too much the past couple weeks.
Jim’s school is doing well. Last week they qualified on their weapons. This week they are doing urban training. His next tour in Iraq (or maybe Iran by then…), he’ll very likely need these skills, so I told him to pay extra-close attention!! He is enjoying not being confined to a classroom with this school.
Elizabeth’s language is EXPLODING! Its been so much fun to hear her new language. She is still dropping the end sounds of most of her words (very common for kids with apraxia), so that is an area of focus for us. Her therapist said she may not get those sounds until she’s older b/c she doesn’t seem to even notice that there ARE ending sounds right now. Her therapist is confident that she’ll test out of early intervention before she’s “kicked out” at age 3 (they transition then to the school system providing therapy).
The current plan is that I will be coming to Indiana this weekend, so I should see everyone soon!
More Pics
I’ve added more albums to our picture site. Christmas with Grandpa, Playtime @ Mom’s, an Elizabeth “photo shoot”, At the Playground and Tub Fun (private).
New Pictures
I’ve been trying to find a new/better way to upload our pictures into web albums without much luck. I finally found a way I think will work well for me. Meaning, it’s really an easy way for me to do it!!
I’ve posted the links on the left and will post below also. There are a few albumsthat I don’t want to make public (E is missing a shirt, shock shock! :). Any that are like that can’t be accessed via the ‘Family Pictures’ link but I will post a direct link for those. If this system works out to be as easy I expect, I’ll be adding a LOT of pictures over the next several days. I have to get some off of our other computer, so it may take until the weekend. Check back!
When you select an album, click on ’slideshow’ on the following screen to view the pictures larger. When you’re done, move your mouse near the bottom of the screen and a X will appear. Click on that to exit the slideshow.
First Week of School
What a beautiful day we had today–67, sunny & not a cloud in the sky! It makes me want spring to be here NOW. As beautiful as it was, I would have loved to be in Indiana and gotten that snow! It has been too long since I’ve had snow (the slight dusting we had at Lewis doesn’t count!).
Jim is almost finished with his first week of school. Today they had a PT test, dental exam & eye exam. Yesterday was a day full of briefings (about medical care, etc.) that he’s heard many times already. Last night he had to write a two page biography. He wasn’t much amused by that. It took him only two short paragraphs to write about the first 22 years of his life! I wasn’t around for 17 of those years and yet I could have written at least twice as much for him.
Beginning Friday, he *should* be able to live at home! He has to maintain a room at the barracks but they are letting them live elsewhere if they wish. We aren’t sure how much time they will be spending out in the field, so he may not be home much. But we’ll take whatever we can get!
