Seriously long time since I’ve updated, eh? I wish I had an excuse but I don’t, really.
After getting back from our wonderful trip to Indiana, we got back into the swing of things pretty quickly. My bible study on base and my MOPS group started back up a couple weeks afterwards. I am on the steering committee for MOPS this year, so those two weeks leading up to it were busy ones for me.
We also officially started unofficialy homeschool E for kindergarten (meaning, we started but she isn’t listed with the state yet). She is loving it and is absorbing it at a great rate. We’re much further ahead than I planned to be by now. Her proudest achievement so far, I think, has been learning to get all the letters in her name and in the right order.
Ben’s vocabulary continues to explode. He’ll repeat just about anything if you prompt him and he picks up new words daily. He especially enjoys mimicking whatever E says to him. He loves to have me chase him when I tell him its diaper change time or need to get him dressed. Lucky for me, he doesn’t quite get the concept and usually ends up on the couch, under the computer desk or in the bathroom…all easy to trap him places.
He laughs and laughs when I catch him.
Jim left Iraq to go to Kuwait at the beginning of September. He is helping to process all the soldiers home. Getting out of Iraq early means that he is last home, though. Kuwait is keeping him a little busier. I got my (hopefully) last phone call from him yesterday and he e-mailed today that it would probably be the last e-mail too. Yay!!! A few more days and he will be home.
