Let’s see…
Ben is as active and into everything as ever. He has climbed onto the stove, onto the island, out of the crib. He broke the frame on the front window by climbing into the windowsill and leaning on the screen. He has pulled the stool to the front door to try to open it (hasn’t figured it out). All while looking adorable.
He can say mama, gentle, nono, make several animal sounds and a couple signs. He’ll try to repeat most things you say. He loves music. And he’s quite the ham.
Elizabeth’s preschool had a graduation a couple weeks ago. She has several friends who are moving in the coming months, so its a period of upheaval for her. This will be the first set of moves that she’ll really understand. Her speech continues to improve–she’s recently had another explosion in the pronunciation department. I’m going tomorrow to see about getting her signed up for swimming lessons and she’s quite excited.
We have a small wading pool in the backyard and the kids spend a large chunk of their day in and out of it. They’ve also discovered the joy of playing upstairs together. They love to be in one of their rooms playing while I’m in another room. I bought E a table and chairs for her room and they are already getting a lot of use out of them. Ben has recently started to enjoy coloring, so they spend a lot of time doing that.
We will officially start homeschooling E in the fall. We don’t know how long we will do it but we plan to homeschool for at least the next couple years. We have been doing quite a bit for awhile now, we’ll just make it official this fall when I pull her out of preschool.
Jim unexpectedly, and suddenly, got moved out of his XO job and to another base. He should have gotten there today (Sunday). New job was still undefined last I heard. He was told, however, that he would be moving to do a job that is usually given to captains. We aren’t sure what this will do to R&R. We are hoping it moves it closer rather than pushing it back any more.
