Saturday Plans Askew

I had this great plan for the day–hurry out of bed, take my shower, get dressed & eat some oatmeal before E woke up, get her dressed, stat a load of laundry, run to a couple grocery stores, Blockbuster & Target, pick up a baby shower gift & look at the a convertible car seat for E at Babies 'R Us, drop a couple packages off at the post office and then get some lunch. Well, it is now 10:16 and the only thing on that list I've accomplished is a shower! LOL It has just been one of those mornings. She's should be up from her nap in about 20 minutes, just enough time for me to finish dressing (I started but only got to the undies and pulled on my overalls–the straps are still dangling down my legs), eat some oatmeal, start a load of laundry & find an outfit for E. Then we can take off and work on some of those errands. I'm hoping Jim calls today as I haven't spoken with him in a week, so I want to be back in a few hours to wait for his call (I hate talking to him on my cell in stores. The reception on his end is bad enough without adding in a cell phone in a store!)And such is my life now…my Saturday (or any day, for that matter) plans never quite go as expected!! On the plus side, though, I spent the morning playing with Elizabeth and watching her do her newest trick–laying on her tummy and scooching around in circles! I fell asleep on the floor yesterday with E by my side. When I woke up from my short nap, her feet were where her head had been! I was a little confused but figured she had rolled around into that position as she's done other times. After watching her today, though, I think she had just scooched herself 180 degrees! She's just too cute!

FIVE STRAIGHT HOURS OF SLEEP!!!!!! Yes, E slept for SIX straight hours last night!! The last time she slept more than four hours was the first night home from the hospital with 5 1/2 hours. Four-hour stretches basically only existed in December (???) and we've been back to 2-3 hour stretches. And, for the past week, it has been closer to the 2-hour mark than the 3-hour mark.(Kept this entry short & left out much of what I had to say as Diaryland "lost" my first copy of this entry and I don't have time to retype it all.)
With the elections over,

I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Jim was able to call Sunday night and it lifted a HUGE load of bricks of my shoulders. January was not a good month for me. The closer we got to the elections, the more knots that developed in my stomach. I can't believe just how smooth they went. Our brigade had ZERO!!! soldiers killed.More to write but I'm off to bed for now. I've been sick, E just fell asleep and I'm going to try to get some Zzzzs before she wakes up again.
