I'm pulling a Lisanne and changing my new template already. LOL
I REALLY liked the other one but it doesn't have any sidebar widgets availalbe for it and I want to be cool, so I'm changing.
I really like WP's blog site so far but I don't like that I can't edit templates myself. The upside of that is not getting lost for hours in HTML coding!

I've decided #1) that I WANT to get back into blogging, #2) that I NEED this outlet sometimes and #3) right now is not the time to try to get Jim to figure out how to set up WordPress on our website so I can run my blog from there. So, in the meantime, I thought I'd set up a WordPress blog so, when he does have the time to set it up, I won't have to convert the entries again. So, here I am!
I need to copy old posts over from my bravenet journal and finish bringing over my Diaryland ones. And then I'm never moving again!!! So if you look down and see random old posts, you'll know why!

1) What are your plans for this upcoming weekend? Do you usually schedule your weekend activities in advance, or are you pretty spontaneous and do whatever you feel like at the time?
We didn’t do much! Friday we stayed in. Saturday morning we hung around the house. When E went down for her morning nap, I tidied up and got ready to leave. We ran some errands (mostly shopping!) and then came home for the rest of the day. I spent this morning baking a couple cakes for an afternoon gathering and then our Sunday group dinner. My dinner group got cancelled due to sickness. E had a not-so-good morning. She was up at 6 and then refused to nap. She was in a fairly good mood, though, until about noon. She then screamed until she finally fell asleep about 1:30. As my gathering was at 2:30 and neither of us were ready and she had just fallen asleep, I opted not to go. Now I have two cakes sitting at my house. Anyone want them??! One is a lemon cake with a lemon creme icing. VERY yummy. The other is a chocolate cake with chocolate chunks, a chocolate mouse filling and a chocolate ganache frosting. Too much chocolate for me but it looks yummy.
Our weekends are generally a mixture of the two. Sunday evenings is always dinner group. And Sunday days are church & family time. Fridays are usually bum-around-home. Saturdays are generally left open.
3) What was one of the best weekends of your life?
Hmmmm….I’ll go with the cheesy answer and say the weekend I gave birth! That weekend we spent in the hospital was just such a peaceful time.
4) Are you pretty social with others during the weekend (i.e., getting together with friends and family, going out, attending parties), or do you tend to stay around home most weekends?
Again, a mixture of the two. We like to do no more than two social “things”, other than church, each weekend. I expect that’ll drop once Jim is home. I think he’ll just want to spend the weekends as the three of us. Occasionally I like to have weekends that are really full. Mostly, though, I’m content with whatever the weekend brings. I enjoy bumming around here but I also like going out.
5) Do you ever tackle weekend projects around the house? Like what? Do you have to work on the weekends?
Before we moved & I was working outside the home, weekends were our time to catch up on things. Now they are just like my weekdays…not much time to do projects!! LOL Once Jim is home & I have an extra set of hands to occupy E, weekend projects will again be the norm.
One of the drawbacks of my travel job…we are “open” 365 days a year!

1. What is the hardest part about raising Elizabeth while Jim is gone?
Six & a half months ago I would have said the worst part would be dealing with the tears by myself, not being able to get a break, being the only one to get up at night, etc. And those are all hard aspects of being a “single” parent. But the hardest part….No one walks through our front door at 5:30. And so I have no one to rush to and say “Guess what our daughter did today!!!”. I have to wait for the next phone call or e-mail Jim to share all the exciting news.
2. Where do you hope to eventually settle (live) after Jim gets out of the service?
We both want to be back in Chicago! I’d like to be more “in” the city, though.
3. What is the best thing about being a mommy?
The ego boost!!
I LOVE being the coolest person in my daughter’s life. I love how she laughs a belly laugh when I’m dancing funny. I love her smile when she sees me come in her room each morning. I love her giggle when I’m kissing her tummy or her neck. I love that look that says “Hey, that’s MY mommy!! Do ya’ll see her??? Do ‘ya?!! She ROCKS.” when I go to pick her up when she’s been in day care or been with one of my friends.
Your picks–Mystery Alaska is a great movie. Haven’t seen it in a year or so…I might have to add it to my library list! Death’s Acre looks fascinating! And I didn’t know Shania Twain has a greatest hits album out. I’ll be on the look out for it!
