So I guess I AM the only podcast dork out there??! Can’t someone pretend and make up some podcast they listen to so I don’t feel like such a total freak??!
Elizabeth is finally on the mend. She hasn’t thrown up since last night & her fever is finally gone. I think my washer & dryer are quite happy–they ran non-stop from Monday morning until last night plus another load today. Since most of our towels & blankets are in Germany still (we have one towel per person plus an extra, one set of sheets & then a couple blankets for E’s bed), I had to run it continuously so I’d always have something on hand to catch throwups. She was itching to get out of the house tonight, so we went to the playground. It was SO cold! She doesn’t have a jacket that fits her (that, too, is in Germany) so I bundled her in what warm clothes she has. I don’t have any cold-weather shoes (yes, they are in Germany) but I did have a jacket. So between us we have a full cold-weather outfit.
But, boy, as soon as that sun started setting, it got bitter!
As for Auntie Tricia…I forgot to post here that I’m going to be an aunt again!!! I am SOOOOOOOO excited! My sister & BIL started the adoption process last month. After much prayer & consideration, they decided to go back to China. The wait this time around is about two years, so it will be much too long until I get to hold my next niece. Our family is thrilled, still, that we’ll be adding another babe to the family.

It always amazes me how I find so much patience with a sick babe. Last week she had a cold and, at 3 am today, woke up with a stomach bug. lovely. I’ve changed my clothes seven times today. I considered going naked but then I don’t have any clothes to help catch any vomit as we run to the bathroom. LOL And cleaning my clothes is a lot easier than the carpet. As we only have a couple towels & a couple blankets here, I’ve ran the washer all day today as I cycle through them. She’s still so little to get to the bathroom before she starts. Luckily, she caughs or lets out a pitiful little cry before it starts and then I can see her little tummy convulsing, so I’m getting pretty good at picking her up and running to the bathroom. I just hate it. And I don’t know how to help her. She throws up anything I give her. She’s holding breastmilk down the longest (15-20 minutes), so I’m letting her nurse on demand. And giving her any solids she wants. She curled up into my lap this afternoon and fell asleep in about two minutes. Without nursiing even! She was exhausted. She’s looking tired again, so maybe she’ll go down for a nap soon. I hate to let her nap this late in the day but I’m guessing we’ll have a long night, so it probably doesn’t matter.
I am entirely frustrated with my blogroll. I want the links to be alphabetized according to site name. But I can’t get them to go into that order. I’ve tried getting them organized by site name. No luck. I’ve deleted & re-entered them a dozen times. Grrr. I know it doesn’t make any real difference but I’m a bit fantical about ABC order.

I’m feeling very blah this week. Elizabeth has been sick all week. She’s been mostly pretty happy but not sleeping well, so I’m pretty exhausted from that. I was supposed to go to Indiana this weekend but Jim was getting an overnight pass. But he calls me this morning to tell me that today’s pass has been cancelled but they should still get the one tomorrow. I really hope so. I’ve been looking forward to getting this break with family since August (LOL!), so I hope I didn’t not go for no reason. Plus, I’d like to see him.
And E too. I feel like I’m never home but I also feel like I haven’t gotten anything accomplished. So I’m blah about that. Excitement for today? The library. And picking up pics from Walgreens. Exciting, eh??
Gotta’ go start lunch….

I’m slowly returning to the land of the living. I have been S-I-C-K for the past 10 days. I’m not sure what was actually wrong. I was just plain ‘ol sick.
Had two teeth pulled yesterday. One was a back tooth. It had broken off a while back. They were going to try to cap over it but there wasn’t enough tooth left to salvage, so they pulled it. While they were doing it, they pulled the wisdom tooth next to it. It had come through fully several years back and needed pulled anyway. Much to my surprise, I’m not in any pain today.
E has her hearing test today. We’ve already started the EI process. As soon as we get confirmation that her hearing is fine, we can proceed with finalizing her services. There is a language preschool in Tacoma that looks pretty good. I think we’re going to go with that and see how she develops. I’m eager to get it going.
DH just walked in, unexpectedly! So I’m off for now.

I am SO tired of being sick!!! E didn’t look so well the end of last week but acted fine. Saturday she came down with a runny nose. Her eyes were all red (around her eyes, not the whites) and her discharge was thin & clear. Thought it was maybe allergies. Sunday I woke up with a sore throat and she woke up with a much more snotty nose. We both now have full-on runny noses, sneezes, sore throat for me, coughs. I guess we had to get one more in before Jim comes home. Hopefully it passes quickly!!
Amy–Get well soon!!!
Lisanne–I hope that you guys feel better very soon. I hated when Luke had a cold a few weeks ago.
