Sick babe, annoying blogroll

It always amazes me how I find so much patience with a sick babe. Last week she had a cold and, at 3 am today, woke up with a stomach bug. lovely. I’ve changed my clothes seven times today. I considered going naked but then I don’t have any clothes to help catch any vomit as we run to the bathroom. LOL And cleaning my clothes is a lot easier than the carpet. As we only have a couple towels & a couple blankets here, I’ve ran the washer all day today as I cycle through them. She’s still so little to get to the bathroom before she starts. Luckily, she caughs or lets out a pitiful little cry before it starts and then I can see her little tummy convulsing, so I’m getting pretty good at picking her up and running to the bathroom. I just hate it. And I don’t know how to help her. She throws up anything I give her. She’s holding breastmilk down the longest (15-20 minutes), so I’m letting her nurse on demand. And giving her any solids she wants. She curled up into my lap this afternoon and fell asleep in about two minutes. Without nursiing even! She was exhausted. She’s looking tired again, so maybe she’ll go down for a nap soon. I hate to let her nap this late in the day but I’m guessing we’ll have a long night, so it probably doesn’t matter.
I am entirely frustrated with my blogroll. I want the links to be alphabetized according to site name. But I can’t get them to go into that order. I’ve tried getting them organized by site name. No luck. I’ve deleted & re-entered them a dozen times. Grrr. I know it doesn’t make any real difference but I’m a bit fantical about ABC order.
Sorry to hear that you have such a sick baby. When mine were younger and couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time, I often gave them a towel or dishtowel to hang onto to catch things in. Hope that your baby girl gets to feeling better very quickly.
I am so sorry that Elizabeth is sick, and I hope she feels better soon. Poor thing, it always sucks when they are sick. You feel so helpless.

Your poor little girl! Ugh, that’s awful! I pray that you don’t catch it. I hope that she feels better VERY soon!
Andy just had that bug not too long ago. Like Amy said, I would generally try to
keep a towel close by so we could catch the surprise pukes. Also, we buy the big
buckets of ice cream pretty frequently (2 gallons or whatever size?) and we always
save the bucket when it’s empty. Andy likes to play with them in the pool or sandbox
in the summer, but they also come in handy as barf-buckets. He’s pretty well trained
with it now, and even when Jim or I say that we have an upset stomach, Andy says, “uh-oh,
throw up in the bucket!” hehe
Sorry to hear that E is sick, just try to push the water or Pedialyte until she’s keeping
something down, and then jello, crackers, toast or plain rice when she’s tolerating any
foods. These bugs are terrible…Andy’s last bout last three days and he definitely lost
some weight with it. It’s tough, but she’ll be better soon. Good luck!
We had that bug over the weekend…well Deidra did. Definitely not fun. I hope that E is feeling better soon. BTW, I peeked at her 2 year pics and she is just beautiful! what a sweet little girl!
Cory, when I started reading your message I thought it was from Jess. Ic ouldn’t figure out why a grown man was playing with the buckets in the pool/sandbox and why he’d need it to throw up in. LOL Glad to see it was really about a 3yo. LOL
She’s finally not throwing up, thankfully! She won’t eat anything and has barely drank anything. But she’s nursing and keeping that down, so I’m confident she’s at least getting something in her.
